Domestic Violence Batterers Intervention Program

PATHWAYS Batterers Intervention Program

The PATHWAYS Batterers Intervention Program is a 12-week psychoeducational program designed to help individuals examine and change behaviors that contribute to domestic violence and unhealthy relationship patterns. Through structured group sessions, participants explore the roots of abusive behavior, develop accountability, learn effective communication and conflict resolution skills, and build healthier ways of relating to others.

Grounded in evidence-informed practices, the program guides participants through self-reflection, cognitive restructuring, emotional regulation, and personal responsibility. Our goal is not only to stop the cycle of violence but to equip participants with the tools necessary to foster respectful, non-violent, and healthy relationships.

PATHWAYS Batterers Intervention Program

The PATHWAYS Batterers Intervention Program is a 12-week psychoeducational intervention designed for individuals who have engaged in abusive, controlling, or violent behaviors within intimate relationships and are committed to making meaningful change.

This structured program provides participants with the opportunity to examine the beliefs, attitudes, thoughts, and behaviors that contribute to domestic violence. Through guided discussion, education, self-reflection, and skill-building exercises, participants learn to recognize harmful patterns, accept responsibility for their actions, and develop healthier ways of responding to conflict and stress.

Throughout the program, participants will explore topics such as:

  • Understanding domestic violence and its impact

  • Accountability and personal responsibility

  • The cycle of violence and patterns of abuse

  • Anger, emotional regulation, and triggers

  • Cognitive restructuring and unhealthy thinking patterns

  • Effective communication and conflict resolution

  • Healthy boundaries and respectful relationships

  • Empathy, trust, and relationship repair

  • Relapse prevention and long-term behavior change

The PATHWAYS™ model emphasizes that lasting change begins with awareness, accountability, and a willingness to develop new skills. Participants are encouraged to move beyond reactive behaviors and toward healthier, more respectful interactions with partners, family members, and others.

Our goal is not only to interrupt the cycle of violence but to support participants in building safer relationships, stronger decision-making skills, and a foundation for lasting personal growth.
