Domestic Violence Intervention Program
The PATHWAYS™ Domestic Violence Intervention Program is a specialized, evidence-
informed program designed to support women who have engaged in abusive or violent behaviors
within their relationships. While society often frames domestic violence from the perspective of
female victims and male perpetrators, research and experience show that women can also use
violence in intimate partnerships. Our program addresses this reality with compassion,
accountability, and practical tools for transformation.

Domestic Violence Intervention Program is a specialized service created for
women who have engaged in abusive or violent behavior in intimate relationships. Whether
court-ordered, probation-referred, or self-enrolling, participants receive the structure,
accountability, and tools needed to create lasting change.
Most intervention programs are designed for men, but women who use violence face unique
challenges requiring a tailored approach. The PATHWAYS™ program meets that need by:

-
Addressing the root causes of abusive behavior.
-
ï‚· Teaching practical skills for anger management, communication, and emotional regulation.
-
ï‚· Providing a safe yet accountable space for reflection and growth.
-
ï‚· Encouraging responsibility without judgment.

At the core of the program is the PATHWAYS™ Method, which walks participants through five
stages of change:
1. Pause – Recognize and interrupt harmful impulses.
2. Acknowledge – Take responsibility for choices and their impact.
3. Transition Thoughts – Replace destructive patterns with constructive ones.
4. Healthy Expressions – Learn safe, respectful ways to communicate emotions.
5. Self-Mastery – Build lifelong strategies for peace, respect, and resilience.
